The accumulation of plastic waste and excessive use is a common environmental issue in Indonesia. Plastics are synthetic polymers that stable, water-resistant, light, flexible, firm but very difficult to break down by microorganisms. Decomposition burning can cause other issues and, during the combustion process produce dioxin compounds harmful health. An available affordable alternative reduce using bioplastics. Bioplastics plastics made from natural materials microorganisms down, so they more environmentally friendly than commercial plastics. Generally, main ingredients for making bioplastics starch or chitosan. source used this project comes cassava peel waste. In project, researchers also utilize chicken eggshells. function adding eggshell give biodegradable complex characteristics. ratio between was 1:0, 1:1, 1:3, 1:5.
